Israeli authorities’ demolition of Palestinian-owned structures displaced 147 Palestinians across the occupied West Bank in one week, more than three times the weekly average recorded in 2026, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

OCHA said Israeli military operations and movement restrictions also disrupted access to essential services for thousands of Palestinians in Ramallah governorate.

In Nablus, Israeli military operations temporarily displaced several families and forced the closure of two UNRWA schools, private schools and a health clinic, according to the UN agency.

During the reporting period from September 15 to 21, Israeli authorities demolished 86 Palestinian-owned structures across the West Bank, while one family was forced to demolish its own home. The demolitions displaced 147 people, including 73 children.

The demolitions included 30 homes, 49 agricultural and water, sanitation and hygiene structures, and eight other structures. Of those displaced, 134 were in Area C and 13 in East Jerusalem.

The largest incident occurred on September 17 in the South ‘Anata Bedouin community in Jerusalem governorate, where 13 structures were demolished, displacing 58 people, including 31 children. The community is near an area designated for the E1 settlement expansion plan.

Meanwhile, Palestinian media reported that Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian homes in the Wadi Qaboun area of Halhul, in the southern West Bank, on Monday.

OCHA has reported a rise in settler attacks across the West Bank. Between January and August 2026, it documented more than 1,600 settler attacks involving Palestinian casualties or property damage across 275 communities, averaging 6.7 attacks a day.

OCHA also said settler attacks, demolitions and related access restrictions had displaced more than 4,300 Palestinians across the West Bank by mid-September, with settler violence and related restrictions accounting for about 60% of the displacement.

Israel has also imposed additional movement restrictions in the West Bank for the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, with crossings closed and controls tightened at checkpoints and road gates through October 3, according to Shafaq News.
