Six more people have died of dengue in Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, while 1,608 new patients have been hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the figures in a statement on Saturday.
With the latest deaths, the number of dengue fatalities in Bangladesh has risen to 256 this year. September alone recorded 148 deaths, according to DGHS data.
A total of 84,369 dengue patients have been hospitalised across the country so far this year.
