Ahmadul Kobir, Malaysia: Bangladesh is showcasing its rich tourism potential, heritage, arts and culture, along with technology-driven tourism services, at the three-day International Tourism, Arts & Culture Exhibition and Conference (INTAC’26), which began in Kuala Lumpur on Friday.
Being held from October 2 to 4 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), the international exhibition has brought together participants from 25 countries through 155 booths, providing a platform for tourism, arts, culture and technology stakeholders to promote their destinations, products and services.
Bangladesh is participating through two booths organised by the Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur and Bangladeshi travel technology company M360 ICT.
Visitors to the Bangladeshi booths are being introduced to the country’s diverse tourism destinations, natural beauty, historical heritage, arts and cultural traditions, as well as technology-based services related to the tourism sector.

The booths have attracted foreign visitors as well as Bangladeshi students studying at universities across Malaysia. Many students have visited the exhibition with their Malaysian and international classmates, introducing them to Bangladesh’s tourism attractions, cultural heritage and traditions.
As part of the exhibition, a special programme highlighting Bangladesh’s tourism and cultural heritage was held at the Open Stage at 3pm on October 2. Tourism-related video presentations and cultural performances showcased the country’s natural beauty, historical heritage, arts and cultural diversity to an international audience.
A group of Bangladeshi cultural performers living in Malaysia, led by Shamima, took part in the programme. Their performances were warmly received by the audience, offering international visitors an opportunity to experience Bangladesh’s music, traditions and cultural heritage.
On the opening day, Bangladesh High Commissioner to Malaysia Manjurul Karim Khan Chowdhury visited the Bangladesh booths as well as several other exhibition booths.

He introduced Bangladesh to visitors as an attractive tourism destination and exchanged views with tourism and other sector stakeholders on promoting the country’s tourism, arts and culture internationally, as well as technology-based services related to these sectors.
Following the opening ceremony, Guest of Honour Akbal Setia, Deputy Director General (Promotions) and Head of Secretariat, along with other officials, organisers and representatives of participating organisations, visited the Bangladesh booths.
They thanked Bangladesh for taking part in the international exhibition and expressed interest in the country’s tourism and cultural potential.

Bangladesh’s participation in INTAC’26 provides an opportunity to strengthen its visibility as a tourism destination while promoting its cultural heritage and creative industries to visitors from Malaysia and other countries.
The exhibition is also creating opportunities for networking among tourism, arts, culture and technology stakeholders, with the potential to foster new business contacts, partnerships and international cooperation in these sectors.
