DHAKA: A bomb threat has been issued against the BRAC University campus in the capital. Following the threat, which was received via email, the university authorities filed a General Diary (GD) with Badda Police Station. Police have since strengthened security around the university campus in the Merul-Badda area, said Badda Police Station Officer-in-Charge Kazi Md. Nasirul Amin.
According to police, BRAC University authorities received the threatening email at around 6:45pm on Sunday. The message was sent from an email address named “[email protected].” The email threatened multiple bomb attacks on the campus on Tuesday, stating, “What is about to happen, none of you will be able to stop.”
Speaking to the media, OC Kazi Md. Nasirul Amin said, “After the university administration filed the GD, we strengthened security there. We have not yet been able to identify the person who issued the threat. We are investigating the matter.”
