bdtickets, one of Bangladesh’s leading online bus ticketing platforms, has won the “Best Tourism Technology Initiative of the Year” award for its innovative use of technology in the country’s tourism sector.

The award was presented at the Bangladesh Tourism Awards 2026, organised by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in Dhaka on October 3.

M Rashiduzzaman Millat, MP, Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism, handed over the award.

Since 2021, bdtickets has been working to make travel more convenient, seamless and hassle-free through digital technology while contributing to the development of a smarter and more technology-driven tourism sector.

Commenting on the recognition, Ruhul Amin, Acting CEO of r-ventures PLC, said the award was a matter of pride but also increased the company’s responsibility to contribute further to the development of the country’s tourism sector.

“We are keen to continue working closely with the ministry and relevant stakeholders to promote digital and artificial intelligence-driven solutions that will make the tourism sector more connected, accessible, intelligent and inclusive,” he said.

In addition to its online ticketing services, bdtickets provides access to tickets from leading bus operators across the country, offers dedicated seating facilities for female travellers and operates a 24-hour customer service hotline.

The company said these initiatives have helped make travel across Bangladesh safer, more convenient and more comfortable for tourists.
