Actor Abhishek Bachchan has revealed a piece of career advice he received from Shah Rukh Khan before making his acting debut, saying the lesson has stayed with him throughout his career.
Speaking to BBC Asian Network ahead of his upcoming film King, Abhishek described Shah Rukh as an elder-brother figure who has supported him personally and professionally on several occasions, including during the making of King.
Abhishek recalled asking Shah Rukh which of his films was his favourite. Shah Rukh replied that his favourite was always the film he was working on at that moment.
According to Abhishek, Shah Rukh explained that if the current film was not his favourite, there would be little reason to do it.
The advice was simple: focus on the work being done now rather than worrying about the future or dwelling on the past.
Abhishek said he has adopted the same philosophy in his own career.
He considers King, in which he stars alongside Shah Rukh, his favourite film at present.
The two actors are set to reunite in King, directed by Siddharth Anand and scheduled for worldwide theatrical release on December 24, 2026.
