UNICEF and bKash have joined forces to make donations to support children in Bangladesh easier and more accessible, allowing people to contribute through the bKash app and its extensive offline merchant network.
Under the collaboration, bKash users can donate directly to UNICEF by logging into the app, selecting the “Donations” option and choosing UNICEF. Contributions can also be made through bKash’s offline merchants, expanding access to UNICEF’s fundraising initiatives across the country.
Carla Haddad Mardini, Global Director of Private Fundraising and Partnerships at UNICEF, said the partnership with bKash, a widely used digital platform, would help UNICEF reach more people and communities through a simple, secure and accessible way of supporting children.
“We are pleased to see this partnership come to fruition as part of UNICEF’s ongoing efforts to expand funding opportunities and mobilise durable support for children,” she said.
“Children are at the heart of Bangladesh’s future, and through this initiative, we can reach more of them with the services they need to survive, learn and thrive.”
bKash Chief Executive Officer Kamal Quadir said the partnership would give greater momentum to fundraising initiatives aimed at creating better opportunities for children.
