A 36-year-old man was stabbed to death by unidentified assailants in Bandar upazila of Narayanganj on Saturday night.
The deceased, Russel, was the son of late Sheikh Ahmad Mia and a resident of the Dakshin Gharmora area.
The incident occurred at an isolated spot behind Haji Asmat Ullah School in Dakshin Gharmora under Kalagachhia Union.
On receiving information, police from Bandar Police Station visited the scene, recovered the body and sent it to Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
The motive for the killing and the identities of those involved remain unknown.
Bandar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Jamal Uddin confirmed the incident, saying an investigation was underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the murder. Legal proceedings were also being initiated.
