Sonali Bank services to remain suspended for 48 hours

All banking services of state-owned Sonali Bank PLC will remain suspended for 48 hours from midnight on Thursday (October 15) to facilitate an upgrade of its core banking system.

According to a circular issued by Bangladesh Bank on Wednesday, the suspension will continue until 11:59pm on Saturday (October 17).

The scheduled downtime is intended to upgrade the database of Sonali Bank’s Intellect Core Banking System (CBS) 10.00 software from Oracle 11g to Oracle 19c.

During this period, all banking operations and services, including ATM, card transactions and digital banking, will remain unavailable.

Bangladesh Bank has approved the temporary suspension on the condition that Sonali Bank takes adequate measures to inform customers about the disruption.

Normal banking operations and services are expected to resume after the scheduled maintenance, provided no technical complications arise.

Customers have been advised to complete their essential banking transactions in advance to avoid inconvenience during the suspension.
