Real Madrid produced a stunning comeback against Roma, scoring three goals in the final seven minutes to secure a memorable 4-3 victory in a UEFA Champions League match on Thursday.
Trailing 3-1 until the 83rd minute at Stadio Olimpico, the Spanish giants appeared destined for defeat before Carlos Espi, Endrick and Antonio Rudiger turned the match on its head.
Roma started aggressively in front of their home supporters and took the lead through Marten de Roon in the 20th minute. Kylian Mbappe equalised for Real five minutes later with a shot, but the hosts remained the more dominant side in the first half.
Roma regained the lead six minutes after the break when Donyell Malen scored in the 51st minute. The Dutch forward struck again in the 58th minute to put the hosts 3-1 ahead and leave Real facing a difficult task.
The match took a dramatic turn in the closing stages.
Substitute Endrick saw his header saved, but Espi reacted quickly to score from the rebound in the 83rd minute, reducing the deficit to 3-2.
Just two minutes later, Endrick rose to head home from an Arda Guler corner, restoring parity at 3-3.
Real completed their remarkable turnaround in the 90th minute. Guler delivered another corner, and defender Rudiger finished brilliantly amid a crowded penalty area to put the visitors ahead for the first time.
The three late goals transformed a seemingly certain defeat into a spectacular 4-3 victory for Real Madrid.
The Spanish club have a long history of dramatic comebacks in the Champions League, and this extraordinary win added another memorable chapter to that tradition.
