The formation of governing bodies and managing committees at private educational institutions has been suspended until further notice, the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee has said.
The decision was announced in a notice signed by committee president Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman on Thursday.
According to the notice, the 2026 regulations governing the formation of governing bodies and managing committees at private lower secondary, secondary and higher secondary institutions have not yet been finalised.
In view of this, the committee requested that all related activities remain suspended until further instructions.
Copies of the notice have been sent to the education ministry secretary, the director general of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, chairmen of all education boards, divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, district education officers, and heads of private educational institutions concerned.
