Prime Minister Tarique Rahman arrived in Chattogram on Tuesday evening to visit a Durga Puja mandap and exchange greetings with members of the Hindu community.
He reached Shah Amanat International Airport aboard a military aircraft at around 7:40pm after visiting Rangpur and Rajshahi earlier in the day.
He was received by senior ministers and local leaders.
From the airport, the prime minister was scheduled to proceed directly to the puja mandap at JM Sen Hall in the city’s Rahmatganj area.
During the visit, he was expected to exchange greetings with Hindu devotees and attend an interaction programme.
He was also scheduled to attend a meeting with local BNP leaders before returning to Dhaka.
