Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited the Sundarbans, the world’s largest mangrove forest and the only natural habitat of the world-famous Royal Bengal tiger, by helicopter on Thursday.

After an aerial inspection of Akram Point and adjoining areas of the Sundarbans, the prime minister landed at the playground of Nalian Secondary School in Dakop, Khulna, at around 10:30am.

The prime minister later travelled by waterway from Nalian to Mongla.

After completing his day-long official engagements, the prime minister was scheduled to leave for Dhaka from the Mongla helipad at 4pm.
