Autorickshaw drivers blocked the Dhaka-Tangail highway in Kaliakair, Gazipur, on Friday morning, demanding an end to police harassment.
The blockade brought all types of vehicle movement to a halt on the highway, triggering severe traffic congestion on both the main road and surrounding roads.
Traffic movement in the area was virtually paralysed, causing significant suffering for passengers travelling along the route.
