DHAKA A total of 239 educational institutions across the country recorded a zero per cent pass rate in the 2026 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations, meaning none of their candidates passed.

Meanwhile, 139 institutions achieved a 100 per cent pass rate this year.

Last year, 202 institutions had a zero per cent pass rate, while the number stood at 65 in 2024.

The overall pass rate in this year’s HSC and equivalent examinations under 11 education boards stood at 52.12 per cent. The pass rate was 58.83 per cent in 2025, marking a decline of 6.71 percentage points this year.

Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon formally inaugurated the publication of the results at a programme at the Secretariat at 11am on Saturday. The results are being made available simultaneously online and through educational institutions.

The results were initially scheduled to be published on October 29, but the date was later rescheduled to Saturday.

The Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee had earlier said that educational institutions would have to collect the results through the designated website. Institutions can download the results by selecting the results section and entering their respective education board and institution identification number (EIIN).

Candidates can access their results through the common website of the education boards or the respective board websites. They can also collect their results from their educational institutions.
