Nepal received 132,814 international visitors in October 2026, marking a 3.4 percent increase from the same month a year earlier, as the Himalayan country entered its peak autumn tourism season, according to the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).

The United States remained the largest source market, with 17,437 visitors, accounting for 13.13 percent of total arrivals.

India ranked second with 12,097 visitors, or 9.11 percent, followed by China with 11,695 arrivals, representing 8.81 percent.

The United Kingdom and Australia were also major source markets, contributing 9,385 and 9,352 visitors, respectively. Each accounted for slightly more than 7 percent of total arrivals.

European countries collectively accounted for the largest regional share at 30.02 percent, while other Asian markets contributed 20.36 percent. Visitors from South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries made up 18.11 percent of the total.

The Americas accounted for 16.01 percent of arrivals, followed by Oceania at 7.64 percent. Other international markets, the Middle East and Africa contributed 5.78 percent, 1.76 percent and 0.32 percent, respectively.

October is a key month for Nepal’s tourism industry, attracting international visitors for trekking, mountaineering and cultural experiences.

The NTB said the latest figures reflected sustained international interest in Nepal’s natural attractions, cultural heritage and adventure tourism opportunities.
