After being closed for a week due to continuous heavy rains, landslides and road connectivity risks, all tourist centers, including Sajek Valley in Baghaichhari Upazila of Rangamati, have been reopened to tourists.

This information was given in a public notice issued by the Deputy Commissioner’s office at 5 pm on Tuesday (July 15).

A notification signed by Deputy Commissioner Nazma Ashrafi said that all tourist centers in Baghaichhari upazila, including Sajek Valley, have been reopened for tourism after amending the previously issued ban. However, tourists have been requested to exercise utmost caution and follow the instructions of the district administration while traveling during the ongoing monsoon season.

Earlier, on the evening of July 7, due to continuous rainfall, the threat of landslides, and risky road communication, the district administration announced the closure of all tourist centers in Sajek for an indefinite period. As a result, no new tourists were able to enter Sajek during that time.
