Iran has issued a stark warning to the United States, pledging a sweeping military response if Washington escalates its attacks on Iranian infrastructure.
In a statement on Thursday, Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, said Tehran would launch widespread strikes across the region if U.S. threats are carried out.
“If the U.S. proceeds with targeting Iran’s infrastructure, then all regional assets that have so far remained untouched due to Iran’s restraint will face decisive retaliation,” he said.
Zolfaghari also underscored Iran’s position on the strategic Strait of Hormuz, declaring that any U.S. interference there would cross an “inviolable red line.”
The warning follows recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump, who threatened to intensify military action unless Iran returns to negotiations.
In an interview earlier this week, Trump said Washington could target key infrastructure, including power plants and bridges, in the coming days.
“Next week, it gets very bad for them,” Trump said, adding that further strikes would be carried out unless Tehran agrees to talks.
The escalating rhetoric highlights growing tensions between the two countries, raising concerns over a broader regional conflict and potential disruption to global energy routes.
