Sarabangla.net, one of Bangladesh’s leading online news portals, has reached a new milestone with the official launch of its English-language edition alongside its Bengali platform.

The new portal, en.sarabangla.net, was inaugurated on Thursday at the organisation’s headquarters in the capital by Editor and Publisher Saiful Islam Siddique, marking the beginning of Sarabangla’s expanded presence on the global media landscape.

Launched in 2017, Sarabangla has built its reputation on objective, impartial and public-interest journalism.

With the launch of its English edition, Sarabangla aims to extend its trusted journalism to a global audience, providing English-speaking readers and the Bangladeshi diaspora with reliable news, analysis and opinion on Bangladesh and beyond.

The launch ceremony was attended by Sarabangla Media Director Shaheen Hasnat, Head of News Golam Samdani, Head of the English Edition Abul Kalam Manik, Deputy Head Syed Ali Asfar, City Editor Rafiqul Islam Azad, News Editor Mehedi Hasan, General Manager (Retd Major) Nahid Hasan Selim, Daily Sarabangla News Editor Sumon Islam, Head of IT Sohail Ahmed, Special Correspondents Mohsin Hossain and Ujjal Jisan, Senior Photo Correspondent Habibur Rahman, AGM (Commercial and Marketing) Anindya Shaheen, along with journalists and officials from across the organisation.

Speaking at the inauguration, Saiful Islam Siddique said the English edition was launched with the commitment to contribute to the building of a “new Bangladesh” inspired by the spirit of the July mass uprising.

He said the platform’s guiding principle is “Passion for Objectivity and Malice to Falsehood and Hatred,” with a focus on delivering timely, credible and comprehensive news, analysis and opinion to readers worldwide, particularly the Bangladeshi diaspora.

Reaffirming Sarabangla’s editorial philosophy, Siddique said the organisation would continue to uphold independent, impartial and objective journalism while promoting national interests, freedom of expression, the rule of law, social justice and universal human rights.

He expressed confidence that, alongside the Bengali platform, the English edition would play a meaningful role in supporting a democratic, inclusive and progressive Bangladesh.

Highlighting the newsroom’s capabilities, he said a team of young and dedicated journalists continues to report important developments from home and abroad, supported by an experienced editorial desk that ensures accuracy, credibility and professional standards.

He added that Sarabangla’s technology-driven digital team is enhancing storytelling through video reports, multimedia content, infographics and social media presentations.

Siddique said the launch of the English edition extends the platform’s credibility beyond Bangladesh’s borders and opens a new chapter in presenting reliable news and in-depth analysis on Bangladesh to an international audience.
