The DSE Brokers Association of Bangladesh (DBA) has welcomed the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission’s (BSEC) initiative to amend the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (Margin) Rules, 2025, expressing gratitude to BSEC Chairman Masud Khan for the move.
In a press release issued on Saturday, the association said it appreciated the chairman’s commitment to considering stakeholders’ opinions during the reform process.
According to the statement, at a meeting organised by the BSEC on July 13, representatives from the capital market shared their proposals, views and concerns on the draft amended margin rules. The commission listened carefully to the suggestions and assured participants that their recommendations would be duly considered while finalising the reforms.
The DBA described the BSEC’s market-oriented initiative as a positive step for the country’s capital market.
It said the proposed Margin Rules, 2025 would help establish a balanced, modern and forward-looking regulatory framework, contributing to the orderly, transparent and sustainable development of Bangladesh’s capital market.
The association expressed hope that the draft amended rules would soon be published for public consultation. It added that the DBA would submit detailed observations and recommendations to the commission after reviewing the draft.
DBA President Saiful Islam said the association fully supports the BSEC’s ongoing reform initiatives aimed at building a stronger, more modern and investor-friendly capital market.
He also said the DBA is ready to continue working closely with the securities regulator in implementing future reforms to further develop the country’s capital market.
