A 28-year-old man, identified as Sagar Hossain Bullet, was killed after being stabbed by unidentified assailants in the Hazaribagh area of Dhaka.
The incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday night (July 21) in front of a house at 48/1/E Bhagolpur Lane.
After receiving a call through the national emergency service 999, Hazaribagh police rushed to the scene and found the victim lying on the road with severe injuries. He was rescued and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where he was admitted for treatment. Despite doctors’ efforts, he succumbed to his injuries at around 5:45 a.m.
According to Sub-Inspector (SI) ABM Touhid of Hazaribagh Police Station, the victim had sustained multiple stab wounds to the head. He said police responded immediately after being alerted and transported the injured man to the hospital.
Police identified the victim as a local resident of Bhagolpur Lane. His father, Shahadat Hossain, is deceased, and Sagar was reportedly unemployed.
Authorities have not yet identified the attackers or determined the motive behind the killing. Multiple police teams are investigating the case. The body has been sent to the Dhaka Medical College morgue for an autopsy.
