Two people were killed and at least five others injured in a shooting near the Space Needle in Seattle, Washington, on Sunday, according to the Seattle Fire Department, as reported by the BBC.
Police said the shooting occurred in the Seattle Center area on Sunday local time. Preliminary investigations suggest that multiple gunmen were involved in the attack.
Authorities said the two victims died at the scene. Among the injured was a two-year-old child, who was taken to hospital in stable condition.
A 56-year-old woman was also reported to be seriously injured. Another victim sustained minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment.
The Seattle Fire Department has not released further details about the conditions of the injured.
In a post on X, the Seattle Police Department confirmed the shooting in the Seattle Center area. Investigators are working to determine the motive behind the attack and identify those responsible.
