International recognition for Bangladeshi academics
The organisers said the summit seeks to highlight professionals from across Asia whose achievements and contributions have made an impact in their respective fields. The selection process focused on professional performance, leadership, achievements and sustained contributions.
The recognition of the two Bangladeshi academics has brought their work in Malaysian higher education and research into the international spotlight.
Although they work in different academic disciplines, Dr Majiz and Professor Haque share a common contribution to higher education and research in Malaysia. Their recognition at the same international platform also highlights the growing professional presence of Bangladeshi academics in the region.
Dr Majiz’s work centres on medical science, medical microbiology and research management, while Professor Haque specialises in marketing, higher education and academic research.
Their receipt of the Outstanding Professional Performance Award is therefore being seen as a notable achievement for Bangladesh’s academic community, particularly for Bangladeshi professionals contributing to education and research abroad.
