Bodies of two women found near DMCH

Two unidentified women were found dead near the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on Monday morning.

The women, both believed to be over 50, were discovered unconscious behind the hospital’s One Stop Emergency Centre (OSEC) around 10:00am.

They were later taken to the emergency department, where the attending physician declared them dead.

Md Ayub Ali, ward master of the emergency department, said hospital authorities were informed after the two women were spotted lying beside the emergency unit.

“They were brought to the Emergency Department where the duty doctor pronounced them dead,” he said.

Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of the DMCH Police Camp, said the bodies have been kept at the hospital morgue.

The Crime Scene Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has been notified to assist in identifying the deceased.
