A new e-ticketing system for outpatient services has been officially launched at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (NIBPS), aiming to make healthcare services faster, easier and more efficient for patients.
The system was inaugurated on Saturday morning by Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain and the Prime Minister’s Health Adviser, Dr. Ziauddin Haider, during a visit to the institute.
Speaking at the ceremony, the health minister said patients previously had to arrive at the hospital early in the morning and wait in long queues to collect tickets for outpatient services. The newly introduced e-ticketing system is expected to significantly reduce such suffering and ensure a more organised and streamlined process.
Under the new system, patients will only need to register once online. Their information will then be securely stored, eliminating the need to repeatedly provide the same details during future visits.
The system will also maintain records of previous consultations and treatments, enabling doctors to deliver faster, more accurate and effective care.
The initiative was implemented under the leadership of the institute’s Director, Professor Dr. Mohammad Nasir Uddin. The e-ticketing service officially came into operation on Saturday, marking a step forward in the digitalisation of healthcare services in Bangladesh.
