Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-6) have arrested three suspected criminals and recovered two foreign-made pistols, seven rounds of ammunition and Tk 153,300 in cash during a raid in Khulna city.
The operation was carried out on Sunday afternoon in the Raypara area under Labanchara Police Station, according to RAB.
The arrestees were identified as Md Ilias Sardar, 42, son of Fazlul Haque Sardar of Indurkani upazila in Pirojpur; Md Sujon, 38, son of Touhid of Gopalganj district; and Md Nanna Bepari, 57, son of Amzad Bepari of Betagi upazila in Barguna district.
RAB said the raid was conducted based on confidential information. During the operation, members of the elite force searched Nanna Bepari’s residence and recovered two foreign-made pistols, seven rounds of live ammunition and Tk 153,300 from the possession of Sujon and Ilias Sardar.
According to RAB, the three suspects are alleged to be members of the “B Company” criminal group, which it described as an organised gang operating in the region.
The force said a review of the suspects’ criminal records showed that they were facing multiple cases in Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) as well as in Pirojpur and Barguna districts. The cases include allegations of attempted murder, drug-related offences and theft.
The arrested men, along with the seized firearms and ammunition, were later handed over to Labanchara Police Station for further legal action.
