The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) will form 57 standing sub-committees to identify business problems, challenges and investment opportunities in Chattogram.

CCCI President Mohammad Amirul Haque said the initiative aims to bring grassroots business views into the chamber’s decision-making process and help identify practical solutions.

“We want to give importance to grassroots opinions in identifying the multifaceted problems, challenges and prospects of business, trade and investment,” he said.

Interested chamber members have been asked to submit their names for their preferred sub-committees by August 15 through the chamber’s email.

The committees will cover key sectors including finance and banking, port and shipping, import and export, taxation, industry, SMEs, transport, tourism, energy, ICT, AI, startups, investment, trade, healthcare, infrastructure, steel, cement and garments accessories.

The chamber expects the committees to help identify sector-specific problems and demands and raise them with relevant government and private institutions.
