The holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi (PBUH), marking the birth and death anniversary of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), will be observed across Bangladesh on August 26 with due religious solemnity.

The National Moon Sighting Committee announced the date on Thursday after the moon of Rabi al-Awwal was not sighted anywhere in Bangladesh.

As a result, the month of Safar will complete 30 days on August 14, while Rabi al-Awwal will begin on August 15.

Eid-e-Miladunnabi falls on 12 Rabi al-Awwal, corresponding to August 26 this year, according to the committee’s decision.
