‘Pink Bus’ hit by Balaka bus on launch day

The newly launched ‘Pink Bus’ service in Dhaka was involved in a minor collision with a Balaka Transport bus on its first day of operation.

The incident occurred while the Pink Bus was travelling from Gazipur to Dhaka. However, no major damage or casualties were reported.

BRTC Public Relations Officer (PRO) Mostakim confirmed the incident on Tuesday.

He said a Balaka Transport bus hit the Pink Bus while both were travelling from Gazipur. The collision did not cause any significant damage or a major accident.

Asked whether any legal or punitive action had been taken, Mostakim said BRTC does not have the authority to impose fines or penalties. Such action falls under the jurisdiction of the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) and traffic police.
