A Dhaka court has set July 21 to pass its order on charge framing in a graft case against former National Board of Revenue (NBR) member Matiur Rahman.

Dhaka Divisional Special Judge BM Tarikul Kabir fixed the date on Sunday after holding a hearing on the matter.

The case was filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Deputy Director Md Anwar Hossain on December 15, 2024, accusing Matiur of concealing wealth worth Tk 1.27 crore and amassing illegal assets amounting to Tk 5.28 crore.

The ACC submitted a charge sheet against him on February 3, 2026.

Matiur had earlier drawn widespread public attention in 2024 after his son reportedly booked a sacrificial goat at an unusually high price of Tk 15 lakh.

He was arrested on January 15, 2025, along with his first wife, Laila Kaniz, from the capital’s Bashundhara Residential Area by the Detective Branch (DB) of police.
