Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, executive chairman of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), has been given a new responsibility following the government’s decision to merge three investment-related agencies and establish a new authority, according to a government notification issued on Saturday.
Ashik Chowdhury has been serving as BIDA’s executive chairman and also heads the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA).
The latest appointment is part of the government’s broader initiative to streamline investment-related activities by bringing key agencies under a single institutional framework.
The move is expected to strengthen coordination among investment promotion bodies and improve the delivery of services to local and foreign investors.
