Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Standing Committee Member and Prime Minister’s Political Adviser Mirza Abbas returned home on Wednesday night after receiving treatment in Singapore and Malaysia for around five and a half months.
The flight carrying Abbas landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at around 9:15pm.
His wife, Afroza Abbas, accompanied him. Party leaders and activists gathered at the airport to welcome him.
Abbas was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka on March 11 after suddenly losing consciousness during iftar.
He was later taken to Singapore by air ambulance on March 15 for advanced treatment. After about a month in Singapore, he was transferred to Prince Court Medical Centre in Malaysia, where he underwent further treatment and physiotherapy.
Doctors have advised him to continue therapy following his return, although his physical condition has improved significantly.
