BNP Standing Committee Member and Prime Minister’s Adviser Mirza Abbas attended a session of the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) for the first time on Thursday after receiving medical treatment abroad for a prolonged period.
He joined the parliamentary session at around 3:50pm on Thursday (September 3), with Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram in the chair.
Welcoming Abbas, the speaker said, “You have returned to Parliament after a long time following medical treatment. Welcome.”
Earlier in the morning, Abbas arrived at the Parliament complex, where officials from his office welcomed him. He then entered his designated office and began his first day of official duties by reviewing several documents.
Mirza Abbas fell seriously ill shortly after the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election and subsequently underwent medical treatment abroad for an extended period.
