Jubo Dal worker shot dead in Raozan

A Jubo Dal worker was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Raozan of Chattogram on Wednesday evening.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Abdul Majid, 50, a resident of the Alimiyahat Bazar area and a worker of the Jubo Dal’s Purba Guzra unit, according to party sources.

The incident took place around 7:30pm at Alimiyahat Bazar in Purba Guzra Union. Witnesses said a group of masked assailants arrived on motorcycles and opened fire on Majid before fleeing the scene.

Majid sustained three bullet wounds to his head, chest and waist.

Locals rushed him to Raozan Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead.

Police said they have launched an investigation into the killing and are working to identify and arrest those responsible.
