Forex Reserves Rise to $37.85 Billion
Bangladesh’s foreign exchange reserves stood at $37.85 billion, according to the latest data released by the Bangladesh Bank on Monday.
The central bank said the country’s reserves were $33.20 billion under the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Balance of Payments and International Investment Position Manual (BPM6) methodology, which is used for international reporting.
The difference between the gross reserve figure and the BPM6 calculation reflects the exclusion of certain assets that are not readily available for balance of payments financing under IMF guidelines.
Bangladesh Bank officials said the current reserve position indicates continued stability in the country’s external sector despite ongoing uncertainties in the global economy.
