SEOUL: The Bangladesh Embassy in Seoul actively participated in K-Safety Expo 2026, held from September 2 to 4 at the BEXCO Exhibition Centre in the port city of Busan, South Korea.
The 12th edition of the expo was jointly sponsored by South Korea’s Ministry of the Interior and Safety and Busan Metropolitan City, and jointly organised by BEXCO, Busan Technopark and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA).
Held under the theme “The Convergence of Advanced Technologies, The Future of Safety”, the three-day expo brought together 340 companies from 10 countries, including Bangladesh and South Korea. The participating companies showcased their products and advanced technologies through 920 exhibition booths.
Around 40,000 visitors attended the expo, which is regarded as one of South Korea’s leading exhibitions for the safety industry. The growing number of exhibitors and visitors in recent years reflects the expo’s increasing importance and international recognition.
A wide range of safety technologies and products were showcased at the event, covering industrial safety, disaster and fire safety, security technologies, transportation and maritime safety, flood, landslide and earthquake preparedness, and everyday safety.
The expo was formally inaugurated by South Korea’s Minister of the Interior and Safety Yun Ho-jung, the Vice Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City, and senior domestic and foreign diplomats and guests, including representatives from ASEAN and the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR).
During the expo, 26 professional conferences and seminars were also held, including the Global Disaster and Safety Business Forum. The sessions focused on global disaster management policies and advanced safety technologies.
At the international exhibition, the Bangladesh Embassy presented a range of high-quality safety products manufactured in Bangladesh, including safety footwear, hand gloves, industrial safety jackets and other related products. The products attracted considerable interest among both domestic and international buyers and visitors.
At the invitation of the Bangladesh Embassy, leading Bangladeshi companies Apex Footwear Ltd, Lotus Footwear Ltd, KS Leather Gloves Ltd, Fullever Bangladesh Ltd, Craftsman, Oishi Designs Ltd and Shoe-Inverse Ltd supplied safety products for display at the Bangladesh Pavilion.
A significant number of Korean and international visitors visited the Bangladesh Pavilion, where Bangladeshi safety products—particularly industrial safety footwear, safety jackets and heavy-duty leather gloves—generated considerable interest among potential buyers.
During their visits to the pavilion, officials of the Bangladesh Embassy held discussions with buyers and representatives from different countries. These interactions are expected to create opportunities for expanding business ties and developing new commercial partnerships.
The participation of Bangladeshi companies in international exhibitions of this kind is expected to contribute to expanding the global market for the country’s export-oriented safety products industry and strengthening Bangladesh’s position in the international safety-products market.
