The Cabinet has approved a proposal to provide a six-month duty and tax concession on the import of machinery and components for renewable solar power plants.
Under the facility, importers will be exempted from customs duty exceeding 1%, regulatory duty, supplementary duty, VAT, advance tax and advance income tax for 180 days from the date of issuance of the relevant notification.
The move is aimed at encouraging investment in renewable energy and accelerating the expansion of solar power generation in Bangladesh.
