Home Minister said there is no scope to reinstate 8,796 former members of the Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) who were dismissed or forced into retirement following the 2009 BDR mutiny and killings.
The minister said no innocent BDR member had been dismissed and that all disciplinary actions were taken following due legal procedures. Therefore, the government sees no opportunity to reverse the dismissals or compulsory retirements.
The statement came amid demands from former BDR members seeking reinstatement after losing their jobs in connection with the aftermath of the mutiny.
