The Ministry of Land has launched the ‘Bhumi Drishti’ app to ensure the regular and timely attendance of its officers and employees and strengthen accountability and transparency in land services through dashboard-based monitoring.
Land Minister Mohammad Mizanur Rahman Minu inaugurated the app on Thursday.
Speaking at the launch, Minu said the government wants to gradually bring land services to people’s doorsteps while ensuring transparency, efficiency and integrity in the ministry’s activities.
He also said the Anti-Corruption Commission is investigating allegations of corruption involving the former land minister.
State Minister for Land Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin was also present at the event.
He said various land services have already been brought online and that people need to be made more aware of them.
Citizens can access services such as online land development tax payment, obtaining khatians and paying taxes through digital platforms, he said.
He urged officials in the field administration to remain vigilant so that the misconduct of a few dishonest officials does not tarnish the reputation of others.
