Three people were killed in two separate road accidents in Bogura on Monday morning, while at least six others were injured.
The first accident occurred in the Thengamara area in front of TMSS Medical College Hospital on the Dhaka-Rangpur Highway, while the second took place in the Ranirhat area, said Raiys Uddin, officer-in-charge of Kundarhat Highway Police Station.
The deceased were identified as Shafiqul Islam, 45, and Arafat, 16, from Rampur in Kahalu upazila, and Khadija Khatun, 52, of Bandighi in Bogura Sadar upazila.
According to the OC, an unidentified bus hit an autorickshaw carrying five people as it approached the hospital. Shafiqul and Arafat died on the spot, while three others were injured and taken to hospital.
Their relatives later took the bodies home in an ambulance. On the way, an unidentified vehicle hit the ambulance in the Ranirhat area, killing Khadija, who was travelling in the vehicle. Three others were injured in the second crash.
Highway police are working to identify the vehicles involved, said Sergeant Sagar Ali of Kundarhat Highway Police Station.
Legal proceedings are underway, police said.
