DHAKA: Police recovered the floating body of a 51-year-old man from Dhanmondi Lake in the capital on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Javed Ahmed, a resident of Block I in Dhaka’s Bashundhara Residential Area.
Police recovered the body at around 6:40 am from the lakeside near the seventh branch of Abesh & Restaurant in Dhanmondi.
Dhanmondi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Imdadul Islam confirmed the incident. He said police received information from local people and a team led by Sub-Inspector Gafur went to the scene and recovered the body.
The body was taken to the police station and will be sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue after completion of the necessary legal procedures.
The cause of Javed Ahmed’s death was not immediately known. Police said they are investigating the incident.
