DHAKA: Bangladesh Bank Governor Mostakur Rahman and Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dinesh Trivedi held a meeting on Tuesday to discuss ways to strengthen economic, trade and financial ties between the two countries.

The meeting was held at Bangladesh Bank headquarters, where Rahman expressed interest in expanding the use of **Bangla QR**, learning from India’s experience in cross-border digital payments and exploring potential technical cooperation in the sector, according to a Bangladesh Bank press release.

Rahman urged India to increase imports of Bangladeshi products as part of efforts to improve the bilateral trade balance.

The Indian high commissioner stressed the importance of making foreign investment easier in Bangladesh. Rahman said Bangladesh Bank had already introduced several investment-friendly policy measures that would allow foreign investors to repatriate their invested capital and profits more easily.

He also called for increased Indian investment in Bangladesh’s **technology-driven, manufacturing and industrial sectors**.

The meeting was attended by Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governors Habibur Rahman and Sarwar Hossain, Indian Deputy High Commissioner Pavan Kumar Badhe, and Second Secretary for Economic and Commercial Affairs Gaurav Kumar Agarwal.
