DHAKA: Five people died of dengue across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, while 1,872 patients were admitted to hospitals, according to data released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday (September 22).
With the latest deaths, the country’s dengue death toll has risen to 195 this year, while the total number of hospital admissions has reached 65,499.
Two of the latest deaths were reported in Rajshahi Division, while Dhaka South City Corporation, Dhaka North City Corporation and Barishal Division each recorded one death. The deceased included three men and two women.
According to DGHS data, 1,753 dengue patients were hospitalised on September 16, 1,593 on September 15 and 1,571 on September 8.
