Brownfish Studio, founded by popular content creator Salman Mohammad Muqtadir, was attacked and vandalised in the capital’s ECB Chattar area on Saturday night, reportedly after he refused to pay extortion.

The studio, located inside the New Gini Properties office, was extensively vandalised and looted. CCTV cameras, equipment, furniture and other belongings were damaged or taken away, according to reports.

Salman disclosed the incident in a video posted on his verified Facebook page early Sunday. He said the attack had caused extensive damage to his studio and affected equipment and materials belonging to clients.

A studio official alleged that around 100 to 150 people entered the premises and began vandalising it.

The official also claimed that some of the attackers were carrying machetes and firearms and that staff members were forced to hide in a toilet.

They allegedly had their mobile phones and wallets taken away.

No studio employee was reported injured in the incident.

Salman alleged that people linked to the BNP had demanded extortion from him and that the attack followed his refusal to pay.

However, no immediate response from any BNP representative was available regarding the allegation. Police have not publicly confirmed the identities or affiliations of those involved.

Cantonment police said an office at ECB Chattar was attacked over a dispute involving the occupation of a place.

Police reached the scene and arrested two people with knives, according to the officer in charge. Legal action was reportedly under way.
