The body of a Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leader was recovered in Chakaria of Cox’s Bazar about four hours after he was allegedly abducted while returning home in a microbus.
The deceased was identified as Isfatul Islam Jisan, 27, joint general secretary of the Kakara Union Chhatra Dal.
According to his family and local sources, Jisan was returning home to Lotni village in Ward No. 2 of Kakara Union from Chakaria town late Sunday night. When he reached Kakara Garapara road area, a microbus intercepted him and he was forcibly taken away.
After the incident was reported to police, Jisan’s body was recovered near Khutakhali National Park, according to Chakaria Police Station Officer-in-Charge Arifur Rahman.
Jisan’s father, Nazem Uddin Nazu, alleged that his son was abducted and deliberately killed before his body was dumped at the location.
The body has been sent to the morgue of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy. His family is preparing to file a case in connection with the incident.
