The original signboard of Radda MCH-FP Centre in Dhaka’s Mirpur has been restored days after the clinic was attacked, looted and vandalised, while repair work is underway.
Local BNP activists and clinic officials removed a signboard put up at the facility following the attack on Monday morning. The clinic’s original signboard was then reinstalled.
Renovation work has also begun to repair the damage caused by the attack. However, healthcare services have not been suspended. Medical staff continue to provide treatment inside the clinic, while some activities are also being conducted outside with tables and chairs.
The clinic in Mirpur-1 was attacked, looted and vandalised around midnight on September 24. Clinic authorities alleged that a signboard bearing the name of “Sammona Dokandar Samabaya Samity Limited” was installed on the premises after the attack.
Police have so far arrested nine people in connection with the incident. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said two truckloads of looted goods have also been recovered.
