Swapna Shahor Properties Ltd (SSPL), a housing and developer company focused on providing affordable flats to low- and middle-income families, celebrated its first anniversary on Wednesday with the slogan “Dream Flats Within Reach” and a pledge to help one family own one flat.
The anniversary programme was held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in Dhaka, drawing a large number of visitors, prospective buyers and distinguished guests.
Speaking as the chief guest, SSPL Chairman Dr Mohammad Rafiqul Amin said the housing crisis had become a major social problem in Bangladesh, leaving many middle- and lower-middle-income families unable to realise their dream of owning a home.
“We want to change this difficult reality. Swapna Shahor Properties is not merely a housing business; it is a trusted means of helping people realise their dreams,” he said.
He said the company had earned public trust during its first year and that the confidence of customers would help accelerate its future activities.
“Everyone has the right to a better life. Therefore, rather than focusing solely on profit, our main objective is to hand over quality flats within the purchasing capacity of ordinary people,” Amin said.
He added that the company planned to expand its operations to other divisional and district towns across the country.
SSPL Managing Director Khorshed Alam said the company had been working from the beginning with commitments to honesty, transparency and timely handover of flats.
He thanked customers, well-wishers and employees working at the field level for their contribution to the company’s progress.
Khorshed Alam said SSPL’s projects were being developed with modern amenities while incorporating earthquake-resistant and environmentally friendly construction methods to ensure quality services for buyers.
“We have created opportunities for people to purchase flats at nominal prices with installments starting from Tk16,000, so that ordinary families can become homeowners using their lifetime savings or instalments without additional financial pressure,” he said.
He said buyers would be handed over their flats within five years of booking.
The main anniversary programme began with recitation from the Holy Quran followed by a cake-cutting ceremony.
A documentary highlighting the company’s achievements over the past year, future plans and various initiatives aimed at addressing the housing needs of low-income people was screened during the event.
Members of SSPL’s board of directors, senior officials of various corporate organisations, prominent businesspeople, media professionals and representatives from different professions attended the programme.
