Eight people died from measles-like symptoms across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The DGHS control room disclosed the information in a press release issued on Saturday (October 3).
According to the release, 1,109 new patients with measles-like symptoms were identified in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of such cases recorded since March 15 to 195,197.
Meanwhile, 43 new confirmed measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of confirmed cases since March 15 to 21,666.
A total of 173,024 patients with measles-like symptoms have been admitted to hospitals since March 15, while 167,756 have been discharged after recovery.
The latest deaths bring the total number of deaths from measles-like symptoms since March 15 to 1,020.
No one died from confirmed measles in the past 24 hours. The total number of deaths from confirmed measles since March 15 stands at 102.
