Salman Khan’s upcoming war drama Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace has received government clearance after undergoing significant changes to its story and treatment, according to recent reports.

The film, earlier titled Battle of Galwan, is based on the 2020 India-China clash in the Galwan Valley. Its release was delayed amid concerns over its portrayal of China, particularly in the context of improving relations between the two countries.

Reports say the revised version satisfied officials at India’s Information and Broadcasting Ministry, which subsequently issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for its theatrical release.

However, the film still needs certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

The new version is reportedly substantially different from the original.

It also presents India-China relations in a more positive light, following changes made in response to government concerns.

Salman Khan stars in the lead role alongside Chitrangda Singh. The film is directed by Apoorva Lakhia.

Salman is reportedly considering a November 13 release, although the date has not been officially confirmed and remains subject to CBFC certification.
