UK High Commissioner meets PM Tarique Rahman

British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah Cook paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at his office in the Cabinet Division at Bangladesh Secretariat on Sunday.

During the meeting, they discussed various aspects of the existing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the United Kingdom, as well as a range of issues of mutual interest.

They stressed the importance of further strengthening and broadening the longstanding and friendly relations between the two countries.

The meeting also discussed expanding cooperation in trade and investment, economic cooperation, education, skills development, migration and human resource development, among other areas of mutual interest.

They exchanged views on continued UK support for Bangladesh’s economic development and progress, as well as the prospects for further expanding the scope of trade and investment between the two countries in the future.

The two sides expressed optimism about taking Bangladesh-UK relations forward and opening up new areas of cooperation for mutual benefit.

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir and relevant officials were also present.
